We...Hello IRomanCatholic, Thanks for your comment. We live on Stronsay which is one of the North Isles in Orkney, UK. Orkney is situated north of Scotland, and consists of many islands bordered by the North Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. We have cool summers and mild winters, thanks to the influence of the Gulf Stream - which keeps us warmer than expected considering that we are approximately on the same latitude as Leningrad,USSR. Stronsay quite small about 8 miles long x 5 miles wide(max), with about 370 inhabitants including 60/70 children. Farming and some fishing main occupations, but there is daily ferry (sea) and plane, to Kirkwall, Mainland Orkney. We are very fortunate to have the Transalpine Redemptorists (F.SS.R) serving the Catholic community of Stronsay. Lots more information on various websites. Kind regards. The beach Hector runs on and the grasslands with cows also are lovely and all seems a little 'heaven on earth' in terms of sight :)))

Enjoyed your ending quotes. How true. Funny how human nature runs from the pricks (no pun intended) instead of knowing they're going to be there if you are determined to be a lily. ;)

God bless you!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04627837499568254875noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7088605398483604077.post-50416924656187529252008-11-07T12:43:00.000+00:002008-11-07T12:43:00.000+00:00Umblepie:Thanks for the pictures of Hector. Their names are Magie (Magic), Lily, Bruno and Bess.

In the meantime as a matter of URGENCY, please visit the Flagship. Confiteor is threatening to resign his commission. Please pray for him and leave your comment. Have alerted Prima, Brother David, Fiona and Mark and left a post on the Oasis in words and music, which I hope will encourage him to reconsider.

Thanks for your posts on St Alphonsus and for your encouraging words to me about the Oasis.

God bless,

In Christo pro Papa in saecula saeculorum AMENJanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00419516065899508757noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7088605398483604077.post-54895333442578814922008-11-07T00:30:00.000+00:002008-11-07T00:30:00.000+00:00Confiteor, Thanks for your comment. Also "Dies Irae" -- must reading for the month of the Holy Souls.

Hector is a sweet ship's dog. Thank you for sharing the stories and photos. Happy Birthday, Hector!

If Fr. Michael Mary pays a visit soon, please tell him that Confiteor says hello.

God bless!Confiteorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09302062028980642745noreply@blogger.com
